Pastor Erik "Skitch" Matson

Pastor Skitch is a native Californian especially curious about young adult ministry and the intersections found in art, ecology, community, and spirituality. He loves playing music, taking walks in the woods, cooking with friends, and hearing how God is working in people’s lives. He’s spent almost a decade in ministry in both churches and summer camps, and received his Masters of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary, and a B.S. in Physics from Point Loma Nazarene University. Skitch is married to Olivia Moorhead, a committed Presbyterian who thinks that Methodists aren't half bad and who loves books, dogs, and being a public defender.

We are actively seeking someone to fill this position


Some of the duties:


Responsibility for all aspects of the music program and coordination of the same with the minister and/or the Worship Committee

Playing of all music for all Sunday Morning Services (52 weeks) at 11:00 am –   to Include Hymns, Prelude, Offertory and Postlude

Playing music for special services - i.e. Christmas Eve, Good Friday, and Easter Sunrise on a per diem basis, based upon an agreed fee schedule

Director and accompanist for the choir for our 11:00 am Sunday Morning Service for the months of September through June.

Direction of a one-hour evening rehearsal of the choir for the months of September through June.

Preparation and performance of special music programs at Easter and Christmas Services

Music and accompaniments shall be on the piano and/or Organ with the goal that all worship music be played on the organ.
