Partnering with smallholder farmers – especially women farmers – to improve their families’ food security and increase their incomes, Heifer offers tools, training and resources that help farmers work together to build profitable, sustainable businesses with strong market linkages. What is Mission? Jesus Christ, as He left this earth, gave His followers, the great commission - the great commandment - to go into the whole world with the message of his love and salvation. That is our aim and our mission. And that is what "Mission" is - the effort by committed Christians to go or send into their own neighborhoods and the worldwide neighborhood, the message, the witness, the example of what Christ can do to and for a life, a community, and a world. Anything we do toward that end can be considered a part of our mission program.

The Emblem

The official emblem for the United Methodist Church combines the cross and a flame. The cross and flame are ancient symbols of Christ and Pentecost. The shape of the emblem is fluid and free flowing, suggesting change and mobility, "I now remind you to stir into flame the fit of God which is within you." 2 Timothy 1:6a

 

Our heritage is one of sacrifice, witness and service. The emblem serves as a continuing reminder of both opportunity and obligation.
